CORRIGENDA

Volume 86, January 1999

Pages 159-167: A. B. DuBois, P. M. Kelley, J. S. Douglas, and V. Mohsenin. "Nitric oxide production and absorption in trachea, bronchi, bronchioles, and respiratory bronchioles of humans." On p. 165, left column, 2nd paragraph, the wrong reference was inadvertently quoted. In the sentence that follows, Kim et al. (13a) should have been quoted instead of Kimberly et al. (14).

"On the basis of the uptake of chemically inert dimethyl ether, Kim et al. (13a) give a value of 6.6 ml/min for mucosal blood flow in the 50 ml of conducting airway distal to the trachea."

The correct reference should have read as follows:

13a.

Kim, H. H., C. LeMerre, C. M. Demirozu, A. D. Chediak, and A. Wanner. Effect of hyperventilation on airway mucosal blood flow in normal subjects. Am. J. Respir. Crit. Care Med. 154: 1563-1566, 1996.
