A method is presented for accurate analysis of large amounts of absorbable gases in the Scholander apparatus; the standard technique is altered only by mixing the unknown sample with a known amount of diluting gas. This modification significantly improves speed and accuracy in high oxygen analyses; reproducibility of ±.04% is easily obtainable in gas samples containing over 95% oxygen.
