Effect of acetazolamide on metabolic rate of man

Acetazolamide administered intravenously to normal subjects failed to alter the metabolic rate in man although animal experiments had indicated that the drug administered in comparable doses over a period of weeks produced a marked diminution in oxygen consumption.
