Electrophoretic Analysis of Exercise Proteinuria

J. Nedbal 1 and V. Seliger 1

1 From the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, Prague, Czechoslovakia

The protein content in the urine of 41 normal young men, after a standard exercise of 5 minutes' duration, was analyzed. Functional exercise proteinuria was found in all subjects. Protein excreted in the urine was analyzed by the paper electrophoresis method: the ratio of the different protein fractions in exercise proteinuria is practically identical with the protein spectrum in blood serum.
