Assays of the summer and winter levels of adenosine triphosphate, adenosine diphosphate and adenosine monophosphate were made on blood obtained from Caucasian, Negro and Eskimo males. These assays showed Eskimos to have significantly higher summer levels of ATP when compared to Negroes but not when compared to Caucasians. Caucasians and Negroes had similar levels of all three nucleotides in either summer or winter, but both groups showed significant increases in ATP and ADP and the sum of ATP, ADP and AMP in winter as compared to summer. Eskimos showed no significant increases in the winter.
