Albino and hooded rats of both sexes were exercised on a treadmill for 2 hours a day at the rate of 1 mile per hour for a total of 64 hours. All rats showed a significant increase in the heart weight-body weight ratio; the female albinos showed a statistically significant increase over that of the male albinos. No sex difference appeared in the hooded strain.
